Nenáročná pěší túra regionem Mariazell začíná na návsi v Mitterbachu. Po krátké zahřívací fázi trasa již po několika kilometrech stoupá na Schindelsattel a poté rychle klesá do Walsternu. Z Walsternu - oblíbeného výletního cíle mnoha hostů - pokračuje trasa do známého poutního místa Mariazell. Závěrečná etapa vede z Mariazell po silnici a poté po Cyklostezkách ke křišťálově čistému jezeru Erlaufsee, kde lze v horkých letních dnech doporučit koupání v chladné vodě, abyste zvládli posledních několik kilometrů zpět do Mitterbachu.

Popis trasy Erlauf-Walster-Runde
Village square Mitterbach at the B20 junction (turn-off towards St. Pölten) to Mühlgraben, via path 690, Schindelgraben to Schwarzwalstern. Continue straight through the Walstern and Rechengraben. At the junction with the federal road B21, turn right towards Mariazell and continue via Kreuzberg to Mariazell. Follow the road to St. Sebastian. In St. Sebastian, turn towards Erlauf Lake and return from Erlauf Lake back to Mitterbach.

Coming from Vienna, take the A1 to the St. Pölten Süd exit, then B20 to Mitterbach at Erlauf Lake.
Coming from the west, take the A1 to the Ybbs exit, then via B25 and B28 to Mitterbach at Erlauf Lake.
