102 let po elektrifikaci Mariazellerbahn se v roce 2013 s novými vozy – „Himmelstreppe“ – začala psát budoucnost této tradiční úzkokolejky.
Od září 2013 jsou na trase Mariazellerbahn nasazovány nové vozy. Flotilu tvoří devět nízkopodlažních motorových vozů a čtyři panoramatické vozy. Moderní interiér, plná klimatizace a informační systém pro cestující dělají z cesty opravdový zážitek. Prostorné oddíly nabízejí dostatek místa pro kola, kočárky a osoby s omezenou pohyblivostí.

The Mariazell railway runs for a length of 85 kilometers from the Lower Austrian state capital St. Pölten to the famous Styrian pilgrimage destination Mariazell, overcoming 619 meters in altitude. The highest point of the route is at 892 meters above sea level in the Gösing tunnel, the longest tunnel at 2,369 meters. The largest viaduct spans 113 meters in length and 37 meters in height over the Saugraben.

From the West Autobahn A1, take the exit St. Pölten East or South towards the center or station.
Parkování
It is best to use the ÖBB park-and-ride facilities, which are free of charge for passengers.
Travel by train to St. Pölten main station and change there to the Mariazell railway (platform 13).
