Accessibility

We are committed to ensuring that all passengers are able to travel in comfort on our rail services. Therefore, we are constantly investing to make our stations and trains fully accessible.

The Himmelstreppe offers modern, accessible low-floor units equipped with wide doors (1.3 m clear width) and mobile ramps to facilitate entry and exit with wheelchairs.

The Himmelstreppe also has wheelchair spaces and an accessible toilet near the entry area.

Stops are announced and indicated visually by means of the passenger information system.

The panorama carriages are not wheelchair accessible but are always used in combination with the accessible Himmelstreppe as an alternative for wheelchair users.

Stops are announced and indicated visually by means of the passenger information system.

The historical carriages of the vintage "Ötscherbär" train and of the steam train are not suitable for wheelchairs due to their age and are also not equipped with a passenger information system.

Notice: Holders of an Austrian disabled person's pass (minimum 70% disability) and holders of a severely war-disabled person pass (minimum 70% disability) are eligible for a discounted single ticket.

Blind people, wheelchair users, severely war disabled people and others with the note "The holder of this pass requires an accompanying person" in their disabled person pass are eligible to travel with an accompanying person and/or guide dog free of charge.

Please note: This regulation also applies to Österreichcard Spezial holders provided that the passenger has a disabled person pass with the note "The holder of this pass requires an accompanying person".
